We took in a CAG from a lady who had initially rescued her. She was thought to be 18m-2y old and was very badly plucked, her diet had been extremely poor and she had had very little attention.
Bella was the sweetest tempered, most accepting bird i have ever come across, she accepted everything we tried with her, she struggled with new foods of any kind but we discovered she would eat anything in 'smoothie' form..so every evening we would sit down together and pretend to eat the smoothie..which of course meant that she had to have some!!
Her balance was very poor initially and she had weak legs and feet, she spent many weeks in a small cage until her strength and balance began to improve. During this time she also visited a Reiki healer whom she adored..she spent most of her time sitting on his knee making clucky sounds at him!!
Bella's recovery pics speak for themselves..
At her initial rescuer's house...

In the end we had Bella for almost 9m..in that time she blossomed, from the bald, silent bird that arrived bloomed a confident, happy girl who was adored by us all. She taught us so many lessons, she made us laugh every day.
One night, as usual, she was waiting at her cage door for Gordon to come and say goodnight to her..he was coming back in with the dogs when there was a crash in the cage..Bella was lying barely breathing..she had suffered an embolism and died in Gordon's hands a few moments later.
We were all gutted..and up until we took Charlie on last week, we had not been able to take on another rescue. Bella was truly a bird in a million and i hope that her last months were as happy for her as they were for us.
RIP Bella..never forgotten.
Apologies if i have posted this in the wrong place, i just wanted you all to hear the story of this very, very special little bird.:)
