Lisa has 33 years in all aspects of Aviculture. She is Founded the Sussex County Exotic Bird Club in 1991; Co-founder of Bird Clubs of NJ. She is current Vice President and on the Board of Directors of The Parrots At Play Calendar Program.
A volunteer for The Alex Foundation & Assistant to Dr Pepperberg while in NJ.
Moderator on the internets largest bird forum, Birdboard.com and Administrator of the Africangreyforum.com
Chaired and co-chaired several fundraisers in the state for various organizations including the Alex Foundation, Dr Branson Ritchie, Stop- PDD, and Popcorn Park Zoo.
Owner of The Platinum Parrot, a specialty parrot supply store. It is the only store in the state that practices under the “Closed Aviary Concept”. The Platinum Parrot does not sell, breed, board or groom birds. We carry the supplies to keep them happy and healthy. We work with sanctuaries and rescues to get older birds the homes they so desperately need. We can recommend offsite sites for Breeders, Groomers and Sitters.
Services The Platinum Parrot offers:
•Working with clients to teach and cultivate practices that result in the optimal environment for parrots to thrive.
•Help new owners adjust to their parrot companion.
•Help owners understand their ageing companions.
•Assist owners in resolving behavioral issues.
•Group behavior workshops to teach bird owners within my own community.
Lisa has been living with African Greys since 1991. The First being a wild caught unwanted grey that found his way to her door. Since that connection, she has dedicated her life to understanding these wonderful winged beings, and learning all she can so she can share her knowledge with other grey owners around the world.
