There are many suggestions and to name a few.

Have a scale and weigh daily and keep a log. Mornings is best after the first big poop and before feeding.
A well bird vet check up.
Give some time to adjust to the new surroundings.
Make sure you bird is protected from your other pets.

I agree, read everything you can get your hands on regarding the Grey
And, secure an Avian Vet. Has to be Avian Certified.
Check on Amazon for the Grey Bibles, as I call them. I also enjoyed Irene P's Alex and Me. It was actually really good, and gives insight into behavior and how smart they actually are.
cork nuts. Mine won't eat em. Alex called almonds cork nuts and actually argued with Irene that they were indeed cork, not a nut. The outter shell, appeared as cork to Alex. In my heart, I kind of think he was right hehe.
Good Luck! I waited 25 yrs to get my grey. I knew one day the timing would be right in my life. She has been worth the wait!
Make sure you have a Play Gym or even T Stands and the correct perches. I just bought a Kabob for fruits because Cherry seems to think that some grapes are better than others. When she does throw some, if you look at them, they are perfect in shape and size, I don't know what is a good grape and what isn't. lol. Apparently, she does !!
Have fun and good luck with your new baby!
