Hi,
My african grey is extremely keen to come out of his cage, i have had him 3 weeks now & everytime i open his door to clean him out, he trys to get out. The issue i have with him coming out is i wouldn't be able to get him back in. He doesnt step up on my hand & he will run away if i get to close to him. I want him to come out because i dont like him being in his cage all day but obviously i can not have him flying around & not be able to pick him up. Does any one have any ideas on how to get him used to stepping up? He will take treats from my hand but he doesnt allow me to scratch him, is this a case of waiting abit longer? ![]() |

Sometimes showing them a favorite treat and then put it in their food dish will get them to go back in the cage.
