Default The 4 Love Languages of Parrots

An interesting article called "The 4 Love Languages of Parrots."
http://www.birdtricks.com/blog/lovelanguage/

Can these "tips" help in getting a more well behaved parrot? What do you guys think?

(The article was not written by me, just to clarify)

well, i do believe that greys are very different then most of the species out there. Also one type of training doesnt work for all species.
I've raised 3 baby greys and all turned out to be loving family members who dont mind others. they are not one person birds.
I have rehabilitated 2. One still does not like my husband, the other became a wonderful family companion as well.
One I placed with Rick, one of our moderators many years back. Bubba was my dads bird, and bubba and i kinda grew up together. Bubba never liked me and when my father became to ill to take care of them, I needed to take them out of his house. Bubba was very stressed being with me and very angered. It was not fair to him, to have him in a place he hated, with people he spent his life hating. So with much consideration, I found him a much loved home, where he is happy.

it was an interesting read tho.thanks for sharing.

Thank you for your comment Lisa! Yes, I too thought it was an interesting read. :-) African Greys really are extremely personal and intelligent creatures that take a long time, I think, to fully understand (if it's even possible ). I cannot see myself without a grey in my life - Malaika brings so much joy and love to my life and is, truly, a great "friend." I absolutely love how she displays, what is often thought of as more "human" feelings, like jealousy and how she can even plot "revenge" sometimes! xD In short - extraordinary animals! But I guess you all on this forum know that already.

The article by and large reflects our own experiences with our parrots (CAG, OWA, Sun). However, I would make a distinction with Greys. They are highly in tune with the "beloved" humans in their life and make an effort to "love" their humans how they want to be "loved". You see this all the time in their vocalizations.
