I have a baby CAG 1 month old. When should we introduce toys to him and when should we start a training regime.
Also when should we remove him from his cardboard box to his cage. |

Following Lisa, you might search the internet for information and ideas that will help. I don't know the time line but the month that Lisa suggests is helpful.
Keep in mind that the baby parrot, now with all of its feathers, needs to learn how to perch. This is not automatic. Start with a 2.5 cm stick thrust through holes in the sides of the box, sticking out both sides, and tight so that the stick cannot spin. The stick should be no more than 3 to 5 cm abovethe bottom of the box. The young parrot will get up on the stick and then fall off. You don't want it to fall two feet and break its keelbone. So at first, the perch is very, very low until it is secure in perching on it. Only then can the height be made a bit higher and then a bit higher and so on unitl the stick is high enough that a cage be considered. You have a lot of internet reading to do. We here on this forum can only pass tidbits and it is thus not a very efficient process. Very kindly, David |
