Default Ember the budgie.

*Ember is not a Grey, but I really need to honor her life*

Ember, my sweet "blue tennis ball" budgie, I am so sad that you are no longer with us.

I hope you had a nice flight along the Rainbow Bridge, and now you can eat as much "junk food" seed as you want.

I don't know what else to say, except that I love you.

I'm sorry to hear about Ember. Grieving may not be the best part of love but it is a reminder that we were lucky enough to experience it. Remember her well and look to that for comfort.

Thank you, everyone, for all of your support during this time.

I have chosen to honor Ember's life by paying even closer attention to the happiness of my grey. Calypso will remain my only bird. I know that Caly loved calling to my budgie from across the room, but she's dealing well to Ember's absence.

With cats like mine, I have to be very careful with ANY bird. I have made adjustments to provide extra safety for Calypso.

The other day a sparrow (?) landed upon a bush I was standing next to. It looked at me for a moment, and then flew away. Somehow it was a very beautiful experience- it made me feel that, "wherever" she is, Ember is okay.

Please, everyone- if you have cats or dogs in addition to your birds, be VERY careful to make sure your birds are safe from harm. You may think your cat or dog would "never" hurt your bird, but it happened to me. Now I am mourning the loss of my little friend.
