I think it is, but I just want to be sure. She does this for a few minutes almost every time she comes out of the cage recently.

What a cutie pie! I have a similar same dynamic in my household: CAG and a Pionus.. also have a love bird (my first bird). Although my CAG (Whodee) is 7 yrs old, he is the newest member of our flock. My Pi ( a female max) is not quite 2 ys old and my Lovie is at least 6 yrs old now. My Pionus and my lovebird share a large, downstairs cage during the day, and each has their own night cage in the bird room. I don;t expect that my CAG will ever share a cage with another bird, but I hope eventually they will all be able to hang out together on the perch (looks like a big tree on wheels). How do you birds interact with each other?

Thanks!
My Pi is also a maxi, I believe she is 8 years old but I have only had her since March of this year. I also have an 8 month old Yellow sided Green cheek conure I got this month and several budgies of which half I bred. I don't think Lily, my CAG will ever desire to have a birdie friend... unless maybe it is another CAG. I think since they are pretty much in single species flocks in the wild, they are less apt to accept other birds. So, my maxi and her have only met through cage bars and it wasn't nice. I had hopes that my Pi and GCC would make nice, but the Conure likes the budgies best! |
