My Bird room

We moved a year ago and commited our basement to the birds. It is, of course, a work in progress. So,e of the features important to us was a floor that is easy to clean. Access to water so I wouldn't have to go up the stairs to clean food dishes or cages. The entire room is for the birds and also for us to be able to be down there with them.

That is very nice. Our bird room is also my office which makes it kind of difficult to talk business when the birds want to talk too. lol. We have a small place and bird room/office is suppose to be livingroom but we got rid of the couch to have room for the bird cages. We just have a few computer chairs sitting around for sitting with the birds. Makes everyone happy that when I am working they can see me and talk the talk.

When we bought the house, believe it or not, the birds were a big factor in our decision. We almost backed out of it because the contractor would not finish the bathroom downstairs at no cost. Our understanding was that it would be a finished bathroom and they came back that it wasn't. I ended up having my finished bathroom at no cost.

I could not picture myself carrying the bottom of the cages to the second floor to clean them or taking them outside in the winter to try to wash them with ice cold water

I have my computer in that room and my husband has his private work office in a spare bedroom so like that the birds don't bother him when he's on the phone. He has a chair in there for them to perch when he's not on the phone so they can keep him company if they want.
