Default feather plucking

we have two african greys they are both treat the same if one gets a new toy so does the other etc.
the five year old plucks once a year every spring the only conclusion i have come to is, its it molting season but instead of a natural molt it rives them out itself.
then on the other hand my three year old has a beutiful coat all the time.
so you never know when buying a grey if it will pluck.

your grey thats 5yrs has already reached sexual maturity, as it only plucks in spring, could be hormonal as spring is when they get the urge to mate....your 3yr old is still a kid, hasnt reached maturity as yet.
