Default please HELP!!! Bare spots in less than three days!

Ollie is 15 months old, and over the last few weeks she has been plucking a bit. However, this weekend she honestly tore out 30-40% of her feathers (including the down). She did all of this in three days!!! She is letting me scratch her wings and back which is something she never let me do before, so I'm thinking she must be super itchy. Could this be mites?? I have a vet appointment friday, but until then is there anything I can do for her to make her feel better? Is my other bird at risk? Any help is appreciated!

It could e many things that cause it,but a Vet check is a good way to rule out health issues. Good luck and keep us posted on how the check up goes.

Mites, prolly not. not unless he has been incontact with an infected bird or outdoor birds.

could be several things. I had that with Emma. she has elevated bile acids. in short her liver wasnt working well. We had her on milkthistle and lactose(correct name is excaping me at the moment) and everything is ok now. Feathers are back.
they tested for lead and zinc too. So not to scare you, but to inform you.
You will prolly have to have bloods done. Is this a board certified vet that knows birds?
Usually on the body is interal. wings or tail is emotional.
Try misting her with warm water to cool her skin from irritation. keep her warm.
I wouldnt be too concerned with the other bird until you find the source if he's not showing signs.
know you can reach me at my shop thats listed in my siggy if you want to talk about some issues.
please keep us informed, and best wishes for a full and speedy recovery!

maybe until you get the bird to the vet you should quarantine Ollie from the other birds until health issue of Ollie has been ruled out.
