I have read a few posts about Greys not wanting to eat veggies. I have a grey I re-homed/adopted and he was only used to eating rice. He lived with workers at a construction camp and they fed him from their lunch boxes. I have had him approx. 20 months and he is now mainly on veggies. When he first came to me he ate seed and nuts but I kept placing veggies in his cage. Whenever I had dinner he would come over to see what I was eating and try a few bits. I think with just patience and eating veggies with them they do come around. My grey still gets the odd nut as a treat but enjoys his veggies. The only time he is on full seed is when we take a vactation and someone is taking care of him. There are some good recipes on this site regarding veggies. I make my bowl of veggies once a week and take as needed from the refridgerator. I haven't tried freezing it in portions yet because I have the time to do it once a week. I say don't give up, just keep offering vegetables and they will eventually eat them.

Thanks for the info Vee.
I would also suggest to keep up the nuts for protiens and also some seed for fats. (safflower if you can)

Yip I still have a bowl of seed and nuts out for him and he picks on them when ever he wants. I am just pleased that he is eating veggies now where he never did before. Thanks Lisa
