Default African grey - red mark on face

Hi hope someone can help with this. had my grey for about 7 months (he is about 2).

this morning i noticed on the white of his face (above 5 mm above nose) there is a red mark (kind of looks like a graze). Am going to get him in the vet but they dont open weekends and only do emergencies. Any idea of what this is?

the bird seems fine playing and singing

Is it above his nares or surrounding his nares? Encircling the nares could be evidence of a respiratory infection or possible irratant to the nose.
If above the nares or surrounding areas he may just have bruised or scratched it on a perch or toy. Some birds can get rough with toys and get hit in the face causing scatches or bruises. He also could have just scratched it with a nail.
I would say it is safe to see how he does over the weekend. However if he develops breathing problems take him to an emergency vet. Are you able to post a pic?
