Default best air purifier?

Can anyone recommend one? It is so confusing! Does anyone have the JWR purifier that is advertised in Bird Talk magazine?

I have them from Sears.
Here is a link to something I wrote up so you know you are getting the right one.

seems alot of sears ones now have the ionizer. I'm searching for one that DOES NOT have one at the moment as well.

Hi Lisa! Thanks for the info...I too noticed that so many of the purifiers have ionizers on them. Have you seen that one I mentioned in Birdtalk magazine? That guy answered the phone when I called and truthfully, it "sounds" good but not sure whether to believe his claims.

no problem.
I have seen the ads over the years but have no personal experience with them, nor do I know anyone who has one.

if you find out any info, please share it with me because as I said, I am in the market as well.

Lisa, I emailed someone on another forum who talked about having the JWR air purifiers that are in bird talk mag and she said she has 4 and she loves them. I don't know of anyone else who does although I am sure others have them too. I liked the idea of the special bulb that kills germs, mites, mold, etc. although there might be other purifiers that do the same thing. Anyways, I am also looking into the Rabbit Air purifiers. I have read alot about them and see that people are quite happy with them too. One thing about the JWR purifier is that all sales are final, I'm not exactly sure "who" makes them. The man in the advertisement has called 3 times since I inquired about them asking if I am still interested (leaving voice messages) His price is 459 for the first unit and 489 for the second. At least that is the complete price he gave me. If his claims are true about his product it sounds great but would like more feedback from others about them. He says his purifiers are made completely with exotic birds and dusty ones in mind. I sometimes sleep in the former 3rd bedroom now turned "birdroom". My hubby snores terribly! Only way I get a good night sleep but I know that it isn't too smart to sleep in there with my 2 greys and caique in there. They are in a 36x24x72 triple stacker cage in the corner and even tho the room is dusted and swept, birds papers and trays cleaned every day, as well as the birds being covered at night, I know it isn't too smart of me to sleep in there! That is why I am looking for the best unit for my situation. Our fourth bird, my old Congo rehome that I've spoken with you about before on the telephone is in the living room and I was going to by a second unit to go near his cage. Check out the Rabbit Airs and see what you think? There is a special discount code in the bird talk mag right now and with the already marked down price they are coming to about $329 or something? Not bad with a 5 yr. warranty and guarantee. Supposedly hospitals and some vets offices use them.

thanks for the info. I do have a client that has the rabbit. nice looking unit. I do know that it has an ionizer that she says she has to keep shutting off because it comes on automatically if the machine feels there is a need for it.
I was looking into Auston(spelling it wrong..minds not working)
but I dont know anyone who has one for feedback.

Hi Lisa, it's funny you mentioned the Austins....After I posted about the Rabbit Air units, I started looking into the Austin Air purifiers. After reading loads of reviews on them and calling the company, I have finally made the decision to purchase one of their products. When I called the company direct, they recommended the Austin Allergy machine/bird dust air purifier

http://purerair.com/bird_dust_air_purifier.html

Basically it's the Austin Allergy model and I asked what the difference was between the Healthmate model and the Allergy and they recommended the Allergy unit because it is made to filter out more particles than the Healthmate. They said perfect for grey dust! Hopefully that's true and I guess I'll find out. It is a bit pricey at $489 but the maintenance is very low on them and I like that idea! Check it out!

Thank you for the heads up. please let me know when you get it, if it does have the ionizer button on it and how it works.
That may be my next one.

Wink Venta Airwasher

Hello,
I have been in the market for an air cleaner for the family. My bird is a dust ball. As soon as i am done cleaning the cage and house... she hangs upside down and flaps her wings with a vengence. She then lets out a laugh... I swear she is evil!

Any whoo.... my vet reccomended one of the ventas because its a dual purpose machine. Anyone have any luck with this? I am debating among rabbit air, austin and the ventas. The rabbit air is best looking but the black only comes in the elite one $$$$. I dont need 800+ square feet....

I need to get a great value and a machine that will last. Any infor on the venta

Thanks,
Melissa and Hootie Boo (CAG)
