what is the update? Have you gotton him back? If not try to offer a reward. It is possible someone found him and maybe a reward would intise them to return the bird. Also inform allanimal shelters in your area and leave your no with them also with any bird rescue near you

Default I just lost my bird also!

I also purchased my African Grey "Largo" in Clearwater/Largo Fl. She's been with us for over 6 years. She came into our lives when she was 7 months old. It was love at first sight!

Largo flew away yesterday and my husband and I are just heartbroken!! I feel as though my heart has been shattered into a thousand pieces! I've had to take a tranqulizer just to cope with the loss! I also have the same fears. Hawks, hunger, cats, etc... We live out in the country, in the Pacific Northwest.

Our situation is very similar to yours. My husband walked outside and Largo got startled and took off. She tried coming back to us but couldn't fight the gust of wind. I have yet to sleep and the loss is just to much to bear!! I feel your pain and thank you for sharing your story.

I wish you the best of luck with your "New Children"!! I hope they give you all the joy that Sydney gave you!

Warmest regards,

Kim

I'm so sorry to hear about what happened to your Sydney. Maybe you have done this already...but have you tried using Facebook for posting a search in your area? I have seen a lost dog, found that way once. Don't lose hope, hang in there. Before our TAG KU-KU came into our lives, we lost our cockatiels in the same way. A painter entered our home, his ladder hit the cage by accident...the cage opened & our beloved cockatiels flew out the door that was still open. It all happened so quickly. I still feel pain in my heart wondering what happened to them?
Best wishes in your search.

Folks, Patty Rabbitt, who started this thread, has not provided an update on her efforts to recover he wayward grey since her second entry on 08/13/09. She posted this same thread on another board and, again, has not posted an update.

We don't know what happened as a result of her extensive efforts to get the grey back. I wonder myself if something happened to her.

David
