How long did it take you get get him healed?
Thanks Vicki. It took about a year for him to heal and re feather. His feathers were yellow from the smokers in his last home and it took many showers to get him snow white again. With all I've done for him he still will make me bleed it I put skin within striking range. My daughters are the only ones that he likes and has never bitten.

Is it true that Too's rank on the same level as Greys or higher with regard to feather plucking? My wife and daughter fell in love with Too on a recent trip to Puerto Rico. I am looking into them. They seem to be great birds if one can give provide them with frequent social interaction, which of course is very hard which is probably why they end up in shelters.

Cockatoos are wired differently than parrots are and they are built for destruction. Their beaks are hinged in three spots vs a parrots two thus more pressure to a bite. There scream can be heard for a quarter mile or more depending on the species. If loud music or screaming babies make you tense you DON'T want a Cockatoo.

Yeah, They are pretty honest over there.
They will get in your face and tell you how it is
I think still don't think Cockatoo's should have ever been caged and I wished people would stop breeding them.

As one who is looking for a grey parrot, I would happily pay the adoption fee of a rescue organization, and probably donate as well. But, practically speaking, I find there are no rescue organizations from which I might adopt a bird because they are not in my geography. Therefore, I cannot attend their required classes and they cannot accomplish their required visit to my home.

For those who are in proximity to a rescue organization, I extend my envy.
