Hope all went well Lisa! The store looks awesome. Are you going to have birds for sale too? I remember when my husband and I opened our hobby shop. I bet your mind is swimming right now!

thanks guys!

Jay, Geo who? **LMAO** I dont get to see him often now....he might enjoy some company!

Chris, no birds. I have always spent my time trying to rehome older birds, (for about 20 years) and While I understand there is a need for babies, (AND YES, I have bought birds as well)I dont want to add to more needing homes in the future.
I will be working with santuaries trying to help place older ones in the area.

The day went well. for no real advertising, and no sign, people came in.
Wasnt sure if I would open the 23 or the 30th. so the invites went out last minute when I chose the 23rd, so not sure if everyone even got them in time!

The sign is under construction.

I had a young boy come in today who has a parrotlet. he wanted to buy a toy, and wanted to know if it was under $1.50 because thats all he had.
I made it under $1.50 so he could have it. He stood there and counted his quaters, dimes and nickles to hand me. My husband watched me and smiled. I remember being that young, and not having alot.
he could have easily spent that money on a soda or some baseball card, but he chose to spend it on his bird. That made my day!
Its all about the younger generation and teaching them how to care for our birds, because we wont be around forever!

Tomorrow I get to do my first shipping orders.........luckily the people who ordered know they are my 'test' ships

Monday will be my first day off in I cant remember when. I get to catch up on some emails, answer some order questions, and clean bird cages.

hahaha..no rest here. Was cleaning grey cages, when I get a call from the distributor, that there was a delivery at the shop and where was i?
I didnt know they were coming. Last word my cages were not in.
It was the Avian Adventure cages that I ordered about a month ago....and only one out of three were on the truck

then back home to finish bird cages, and get my packages together for shipping to a few people.

I did however get a few seconds to go in the COLD pool. It was 76degrees. however I dont remember last time I was in it.
